Thursday night, the Grog Shop opened its doors to a bevy of young professionals, movers and shakers, mentors, artists and corporate climbers. These people of all races were equally intelligent and enterprising, all inhabiting the Coventry hot spot for a good cause.

Former Cleveland Browns wide reciever Donte Stallworth has been re-instated in the NFL one year after being found guilty of vehicular manslaughter and driving while under the influence. Though Stallworth's crime involved the loss of human life, his re-entry into the NFL has come without conflict or objection. Should he be subjected to harsher punishment? Sports columnist Patrick Daniel Jr. weighs in on the dilemma of Dante Stallworth.

As we come to the close of another year, there are some really pressing issues that lead you to ponder...
1. Will Beyonce ever wear pants again?
2. And if not, will we see more pantsless women running the streets?
3. Did Tiger Woods do enough to win Pimp of the Year at this year’s Player’s Ball?
4. And will the media ever find real news to report?
5. What will be the 2010 replacement for “swag”?
6. How many mixtapes will Gucci Mane drop in 2010?

The Glenville Tarblooders, representing all of Northeast Ohio did us proud with their trip to the Division 1 State Football Finals on December 5th. Though they fell just short, losing 16-15, they proved to be a bright spot for their high school, their community and their city.
Polished Cleveland live-tweeted the game and we can only hope that our tweets gave you a true idea of exciting this matchup was. On a few occasions during the fourth quarter, we became open cheerleaders for the Tarblooders and we thought they wrapped the game up. The Tarblooders employed a bend, but don’t break philosophy on defense. Hilliard Davidson is a team that relies heavily upon the run. In the state finals, they passed only twice – and that was midway through the fourth quarter. Davidson racked up more than 200 yards on the ground, but Glenville was successful in keeping them out of the end zone – until the end of the fourth quarter.
